What about the backstage crews?

SERVANTHOOD

Pastor had been preaching about servanthood recently.
You know, servanthood ain't easy!

Whats different about this particular sermon? It is about the "backstage crews".
Most of the time, people serve, they are seen, and they get their applause or whatever fame that is.

BUT! You know what? Andrew, one of the 12 Apostle is a good servant. He always does the small things and never did the big big stuffs like preaching in public.

Pastor also mentioned about Peter and Andrew.
The fact is, Peter was charismatic and was being the lime light and also one of the best disciples of Jesus.
While Andrew is just a normal disciple not being in the lime light.

Andrew knows it, he ain't any Peter. He find its okay because he knows that he is serving God! He has pure motives!
He even knew that he won't be one of Jesus' top disciples either!
(he is Peter's brother too)

Andrew knows the value of INVISIBLE SERVICE.
In John 1:40-42:
Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus.
The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which, when translated, is Peter).
Andrew came along and brought Simon Peter to Jesus and he just blends into the background.
But, Andrew wasn't angry. He didn't come along and tell Simon Peter why is Peter getting all the attention when Andrew is the person whom brought Peter to Jesus?

Andrew also knew the value of INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE.
He cares for the people. He always focus his attention to one person, he has the mind set that he serve people 1 by 1. Andrew just did all the things that anyone couldn't have really done it!
Its alright not to do the big thing! Andrew did all the smallest things.

He attend to 1 person at a time and faithfully served.

Andrew also knew the value of INSIGNIFICANT GIFTS.
In the bible, there is a miracle that Jesus did. It was the "5 loaves and 3 fishes" miracle.
It was Andrew that found the fishes and the loaves! He did the smallest things and it led to a big miracle! Wow! How awesome!

This sermon really encouraged me a lot.
To be truthful, I am not someone like Simon Peter. The charismatic, lime light, able to engage big crowds, cool to hang around with, etc.

But I am glad that I could still do something even though I may not be in the lime light! Backstage Crews are as important!

I want to do more, even if it is in the backstage. I am willing to do it even if its the smallest things. People grow by serving and doing the smallest things, as said by Pastor.

( ̄▽ ̄)ノNow that I know that the smallest most insignificant values could become the best, I wanna be like Andrew!!

Now how bout you!
