Daily devotion 3

"Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees — beware of their hypocrisy." — Luke 12:1

You probably learned early on to put on masks and disguise flaws you didn't want anyone to see.

Jesus calls that kind of behavior the "yeast of the Pharisees" or "hypocrisy". It's all about pretending to be something you're not — putting up a front to conceal your true identity. God wants you to be see-through-transparent. A transparent person shows a completely honest face to himself, to others and to God.

Easier said than done? But being transparent is the only way people can get to know and love the real you.

Daily devotion 2

**Excerpt from Josh McDowell's Youth Devotion 2

"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion who will help him." — Genesis 2:18

You might claim you never feel lonely. But most students ache for a friend who lets them say anything about their ideas, dreams or problems. They want someone who makes them feel good about themselves, glad to be who they are.

God made you to enjoy relationships with others. When he created Adam, God made a perfect person. Yet he said, "it is not good for a man to be alone. (Genesis 2:18)". Then he created Eve from Adam's rib to provide ultra-close , intimate companionship with him. See it? Friendship and companionship are normal, healthy needs everyone has. That's how God built you.

Daily devotion 1

"To know the Father, you have to know the Son. To love the Father, you have to love Jesus Christ. To serve the Father, you have to serve the Son. Jesus doesn't just show you the way to the Father; he is the way!"
— Josh McDowell's Youth Devotions 2, Jan 1.

Last Words

Have you ever thought what would your last words be? Remember to always say what you really mean to your love ones.

One More Moment

Don't take too long to say
I love you to the ones you love
Cause time has a habit of slipping away
And out on a clear blue sky
When lightning strikes on a sunny day
Just take me in and keep me from the rain

And the words that seem so hard so say
Come out when you've gone away
Just stay a little while and hear me say

That I want you here tonight
And I need you by my side
For just one more moment
For just one more moment with you

Turn away to say goodbye
With each and every word that passes by
Like a distant memory

And time keeps slipping away
And time will turn to grey
And time will be the one who holds you down

Sometimes time will treat you bad
Before you even know what's wrong
And in the end it hits you hard
Please tell me you'll be strong

I have a dream.

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." — Martin Luther King, Jr.

This is the power of dreams. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of freedom in America and it happened. And, I have a dream too.

Let's have a God dream.

1/1/11

"A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you"

Let this year be like this verse! Every turn a surprise, with new horizons to pursue, every moment red-letter.
