The Princess and the Frog

Movie Title: The Princess and the Frog
My rating: 8/10

This movie is exactly what Disney need to do again! They really need to get back to old school hand drawn animation. It is waaaay better! Back into the old glorious animation days; having hand drawn characters, lovely storyline and nice music still works as a good formula as one of the perfect animation.

The details of each and every character and even the background is really amazing, it's just unbelievable!

Alright, what about the storyline?
Yes, it is still predictable. All Disney movies has happy endings. It's just their norm to create good lovely and happily ended movies. But still, it does bring us back to the basics of life – love. This story simply tells us all about our hopes and dreams. What we want to do and what do we really need.

Everyone ought to have their own visions, hopes and dreams in their life. Never hold back and work hard towards your dreams! Do not hesitate to do your best and leave the rest to God. But always remember, never lose sight of what is important. Those people around you, your friends and family..they are the ones that are important!

Learn to differentiate between want and need.

Fireproof

Movie Title: Fireproof
Movie Rating: You gotta watch this.

This movie is about two couples, already going for a divorce. But something happens, and the guy wants to try to save his marriage. There are many things that you can learn from this movie and this movie will cost you a bucket of tears!

In a marriage, you've vowed to go through with one another for better or for worse. Most couples are just there for the better and when the worse comes, they divorce. In the marriage you've made the covenant, you've made a promise and a vow. So never let anything become a death situation in your marriage!

Oh fyi, this is a Christian based movie, so yeah! You'll get to learn many things – really.

Watch this and I bet you'll tear and definitely hold dearly to your other half.

And always remember,
"Never leave your partner behind in a fire."

Up In The Air

Movie Title: Up In The Air
My Rating: 9/10

This movie makes you think. I think that this movie is like a wake up call. This movie is a story of a man that has been flying in the air around the world to go to different companies to fire people. Yup, that's his job – firing people.

In your life, you worked so hard and you've become successful in your career. But wait a second – take a step back a little. Life is not all about what you've achieved neither whether you've lots of money. It's about your journey with whoever you decided to be with. Your family, friends and your spouse or even your kids.

Everyone in their lives, needs a co-pilot. Every mankind needs a companion, someone to share their lives with, someone that when everything else has ended, they can come back home.

A great movie that makes you think! Watch it.

Childhood

Do you still remember when you were young?

You would do stupid stuffs and yet be happy about it. Doing silly stuff is what a kid would do and should. Somehow or another, I kinda miss being like a kid. Eating messy, jumping on the bed, being childish, playing around, being innocent, watching cartoons, playing in the playground, talking to kids that you don’t know, playing boyfriend & girlfriend, playing married couples, kissing parents, hugging people around you.

Children are just that innocent and pure isn’t it? They do not have ulterior motives. Just because of that innocence children have, they could enter the gates of heaven easily. We ought to sometimes learn from children.

Be childlike but not childish.
Be innocent but not gullible.
Be pure but not naive.

“unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” ~ Matthew 18:2–4

It's holidays, now what?

Yes! It's finally holidays! I've finally taken of some time to rest and sleep properly. I even went for a night jog! It had been great over the last whole week. I only had to go to school for Crowbar submission and a short briefing. Glad that I even got the time to enjoy a day at Sentosa with my classmates! The best of all is that I had tremendous favor from a lecturer. This lecturer mailed me and gave me some insight for internship! It's really awesome to have such a great lecturer that is willing to help. Just last Friday, I went for a job interview at Furry Fish which is located at Clark Quay, south bridge road. When I opened the office door, something struck me. I've actually forgotten to bring my portfolio! Carelessly, I went into the office anyway and shook the hands of the 2 bosses. And I told them I only brought my laptop.

During the interview, the boss asked me if I had any knowledge of building a website and flash. I told him, honestly, I do not know! Just when I thought my day was pretty bad, the boss even said that their company is actually strongly based on Interactive Media, which means that Flash and Website building is needed.

I told myself that it's alright, I'll just have to look for another company for internship then. As soon as I left the company I went for a drink and started searching though various design companies and started sending them e-mails though my Blackberry.

When I check my e-mail again after an hour later, I saw Furryfish's e-mail in my inbox.

"Sian lah, surely tell me I'm sorry." I said

Surprisingly, I was actually being asked to join their company! They offered $500/month which is kinda low but well, at least I've got an internship now isn't it!?

Thank God for awesome lecturers and divine favor! There's no other reason why is this happening but God. God really works in mysterious ways huh!

Marathon

Life is just like a marathon. At the start, you are so motivated to sprint. You sprint, you ran as fast as you could. You felt that you are unbeatable, invulnerable, superb and even god-like. But soon, you found yourself not having the stamina to sprint any longer.

This is the turning point. A big battle between your spirit and your flesh.

Your flesh tells you that you need to sit down to rest. It tells you to give up, who cares anyway? Why bother sprinting or running or even carry on the marathon? It's not worth it. Let's just give up and do something comfortable and easy.

But on the other hand, your spirit tells you that you have to keep moving on. It tells you that even if you have to walk, even if you crawl, as long as you are still progressing, you'll definitely reach the end of the race. At least you've done your best to complete the marathon.

You know what? God does not care if you are the sprinter or not. He does not really care if you are the first or the last. What really matters is that you did not give up on life. You did not give up on Him. You did not give up on yourself.

What really matters is that you must always keep yourself moving even though you are moving really slow. As long as you are always doing your best to make progression. Always remember, do your best and He will do the rest.

Keep pressing in, keep on keeping on, keep moving and never give up on life, yourself and God.

Love motivates.

Ipron Man 2

Movie Title: Iron Man 2
My Rating: 8/10

Visually captivating and has a in-depth introduction to various characters and a little history about Tony Starkk. Overall, I feel that it's pretty nice, but if you were to watch this without watching Iron Man 1, it can't be a standalone movie. The story slowly builds itself and you'll get to see a tearing narcissistic Tony Starkk. In this movie, you'll get to see upgrades for Iron Man! New technology and new gadgets! Super uber duper COOL.

If you've watched Iron Man 1, you GOTTA WATCH THIS!

Movie Title: Ip Man 2
My Rating: 9/10

No movie's ever perfect. The only thing that I really didn't like is the whole setting of the story! Sad to say, I feel that it's a very 'racist' movie. Maybe it is not intended but oh well! Chinese for the win!

In this movie, you'll get to see the heart of Ip Man (not literally). The integrity that he believed in. You'll get to have some food for thought after what he said at the end of the movie. I can't really explain or tell how good it is but please, if you are a Chinese, you gotta watch IP MAN 2!

Amazing parents

Yesterday when I was working, I saw this dad holding the hands of his son while looking at the wii set that we’ve set up. His son wasn’t normal, he has down syndrome.

This dad, with so much love, still plays with him and laughs with him. Later, they went to the nearby Ya Kun and met up with the mum and the grandparents. They were all eating happily and laughing at each other. The grandparents really love their grandson despite him being like that.

The parents were already around their late 40s yet their love for their disabled son is so ..I can’t describe it.

Suddenly, I told myself, I gotta be like that dad.

To my future son,
No matter if you grow tentacles and you have 10 eyes or whatever, I’ll still love you!

The unconditional LGMH.

End of NAFA Year 2

Yep! Finally, it has ended after 18 weeks of torture. Sleepless nights and brain cracking has gotten me all pimply and caused my face to become fatter.

Haven't even really been exercising neither have I been watching any shows except recently, IRONMAN2!
This semester has ended really really well! Although the previous assessment for the core modules ain't that great, I'd still thank God for strengthening me.

On the lighter note, my ISP (integrated studio project aka semester's major project) has been selected for Crowbar Awards to represent the school! Out of 25 students in my class, I was one of the 4 that got selected! There are 4 graphic design classes and every class will have only 5 students will be selected for Crowbar Awards. So in other words, there is on average of 20 students out of 93 students in Graphic Design class are selected for Crowbar Awards.

Really, thank God for wisdom, strength and creativity!

I'm signing up for the Advertisement category! HEEHEE!

Andd...had a haircut before holiday starts! I'm determined to get an internship!!!! I NEED INTERNSHIP!
