Man in the household.

"I am the only one working in this house you know?"
This is always heard at home by my Dad.

Yep. I know, we know that he is the sole breadwinner of the family. But, he often exploits it and use it to put pressure on the family. Well, my mum is a natural hot head and stubbon. Actually, both are!
How can things be solved when two hot headed (creatures?) meet each other and starts wanting the other party to do things the way they want?

So what if you gain the world and lose your soul?
Your soul is your family, friends and God!
If you can't even handle family, how can you or me become a greater person?

They often quarrel just because of trival stuff. I just don't get it!
If I'm really that bad, I would've shouted "Hey kids! stop whinning!"

But, I'm lost at what should I do. Sometimes I really thought to myself, "they are parents?!" (in a 3rd party perspective)
Well, I'm glad I came to know christ. Otherwise, I think I would've been affected by their "whinning" and prolly become some part-time ah beng or quit schooler or even, suicide.

Man, I tell ya. If you are in my situation, your brains might just pop instantly, anytime!
From these things that happened, I told myself that I must not be like them and for the better, I have to know where I am in God and I should know how should I conduct myself in the future, in my own family.

I should be the MAN that I should be. Born a man, but you can choose to be one or not.
I will definitely do my best for my family. Eventhough I am the bread winner, I should also help out with housework. Guys! Gentlemen! You should be the one working, helping and holding onto the whole family! Not destroying nor do the I-am-the-sole-breadwinner thing. So what if you are tired?! Do what gentlemen do!

For wives, of course they are the support job in the family. They support the husband and provide comfort for them, not nagging at them to help you or whatever when they come back from work! The gentlemen should know what they should do, if not, give them a good nagging.

Woot. Its late and I've gotta go to work tomorrow.

Be a man! Do the right thing!

Asia Conference - Day 3

Yesterday was insane!
As expected, super long queues!

Session #4 was held by Dr. A.R. Bernard.
The things he shared with us was really amazing.

He even used a parable, "Fish in sea water and not be salty."
Yes, as Christians, we ought to be in the "sea" and not become "salty"
We have to know how to draw a line between culture and spiritual discipline.

Culture: Imitation? or Isolation?
Allowing culture to shape us or reject culture and become irrelavant?
Seperation IS NOT Isolation!

In Genesis, man was Good.
We fell from that "Good"
Jesus came to reconcile us to the "Good" not just connecting us with God.
We must not be terrified against the world for we believe greater is he who is in me than the world!

Christians often says greater is he who is in me than the world, but they are afraid of engaging culture, engaging the world and become irrelavant.

Insulation & Penatration
Whats Insulation about? Keeping the cold out and heat in.
We have to insulate ourselves and keeping the "cold" out and our core values, "heat" in.

How do we get people saved? By insulating them with truth, illuminate them with the truth.
You will get sweaty inside if you insulate too much! So, know when to do it at the right moment.

Whats Penatration?
It is to be stealth, undetected and get into the 2nd space and even the 3rd!
We must not have desperate spiritual mugging, don't just mug mug mug in the church and not use it in the place where we are put in. Jesus says that we are to be sheeps placed among wolves, not sheeps among sheeps!

Be ready!
We all have to be educated, so we can go to the 3rd space, then you can penetrate and illuminate!

The Night session #5 was by Ps. Kong.
Man.. the word is so strong that I can't bare to leave early! But I have to >_>

In this session, Ps. Kong talked about interfearing culture. Kristos Kai Kosmos.
Here are 3 key passages: Is. 60, Rev. 21 and Heb. 13.

In Is. 60 and Rev. 21, it clearly says that Heaven is a city! Is the Holy City, the New Jerusalem.

In these 3 passages, it talks about 3 symbols of pagan pride: Camel, Ship and Cedar.
These pagan items will be redeemed and changed to turn from bad to good!

How does God judge?
Destruction? or Construction?
Fire of purification? or Fire of destruction?
He cut down trees only to reshape them!

Our God is a redeemer, not a destroyer!
His ultimate goal is to bring in redemption and restoration! not to destroy!
So, pop culture will never be destroyed, our progress, knowledge, skills, will never be destroyed! It will still be brought to Heaven.

Everything in the world will be redeemed, renewed for the new jerusalem, every progress will also be brought to heaven.

People say, when you die, you can't bring things on earth along with you. Yes and No!
Yes to materialism but No to progress, knowledge, skills and culture! Even technology!

HEAVEN - Holy City.
In christian life, we must not be passive! Heb. 11 - 13
We have to seek for heaven and not await for it to come!
We have to be actively seeking!

But how?!
Heb. 13:11-14
It is to go out to the world to get everything redeemed.
The church is the house of God but our purpose is to get things redeemed OUTSIDE the four walls of the church!

How again? Through the ability to SERVE outside the church.
Rev. 21:23 - New Jerusalem, is filled with lights!
So, in conclusion, we must not be passive but ACTIVE and not judgemental.
In the world and not of the world.
Yes, We Can! Yes, We Believe!

Asia Conference - Day 2

Finally, I have time to post!
Oh I tell you, this two days was PHENOMENAL!

On the 2nd day which is Thursday, I reached Expo Hall 8 by 8:15AM and the queue from Hall 8 reached all the way to the end of Hall 9, close to Hall 10 already!
I mean, oh my oh my! See how on fire these people are?!

At 8:15 AM the queue estimated close to a thousand! My friend Hanyong reached Expo Hall 8 at 7:30am and he is only in the middle of the whole queue. Wow. (O_O;)

But, I'm glad that in the end, I managed to get seats for 9:30AM Session #2 with Dr. Phill Pringle. We were all very touched by the way he moves in the spirit and we all prayed for many people that were representing their country that was there. We all believed that there would be a change in their lives and also their very own countries.

At 11.45AM, Dr. Ulf Ekman was taking Session #3.
I was very very sleepy but! The atmosphere was great.
( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

When it was time for Lunch with Phil Pringle, we all didn't have the chance to get the food and seats, so we went out to buy food. How disappointing! BUT! We didn't lose heart, we quickly ran to queue for the next elective, Choosing The Right Partner In Life.

Oh man, it was amazing!

In Gen. 26:25, The bible order is always in this order: God - family - job.
Gen 2:20 it says that God gives each of us a marriage partner to help us and bless us in our walk with him.

Before the elective started, Pastor asked us to greet and have 3mins of chat with someone we do not know. I bet everyone at that moment had been thinking "could this be my right partner?"
O(≧∇≦)O

How do you know if a person can be a lifelong partner?

1. Physical Attraction.
Keep yourself FIT and HEALTHY.
Make effort to GROOM yourself.

Some proven facts:
a. People size each other up within the first 3 seconds of an encounter!
b. 55% of the first impression we make on others is based on our appearance.
c. Survey has shown that in job interviews, 75% percent of the decision to hire is based on our appearance. Not our qualifications or experience!
People tend to look outwardly first since the first impression would let the other person to know if you are trustworthy, wise, responsible or otherwise.

2. Communication Attraction.
Communication is the basis of life.
Communication is the basis of life in your relationship!

Communication is carried out in three ways:
a. By WORDS
b. By GUESTURES
c. By SPIRIT

Yes, by spirit too!

3. Spiritual Attraction.
3 Cs
a. Christian
b. Committed
c. Compatible

We are not perfect, so don't expect to find a perferct partner!

There is a short story that Pastor shared with us.
There is this lady, one day she went to a new shop called, THE HUSBAND SHOP.
She got excited and went in it quickly.

On the first level of the shop, there were many men on sale to become a husband.
There was a sign board on the first level and it says, "These men have a job."

The lady thought to herself, at least they have a job, not like my ex that does not have one.
She became curious when she saw that there is a second level and quickly went up to the next level. But, there was a rule. Its that you can't go down after you go up. (maybe there is only an esscalator for going up)

On the second level of the shop, the sign board says, "These men have a job and they earn big money." The lady exclaimed, "WOW!". She was very excited as these men on the second level was better than those on the first. She thought to herself, 2nd level better than 1st level, I wonder whats on the 3rd!

So she went up again. The sign board on the 3rd level says, "These men have a job, earn big money and love kids"
"WOW!" again, exclaimed the lady. This time, she thought to herself, if the 3rd level is better than the 1st and 2nd, why not go up further to get a better one?

Yep, she went up to the 4th level of The Husband Shop. The sign board on the 4th level says, "These men have a job, earn big money, love kids and love doing housework."
The lady got all excited and proclaimed, "THIS IS THE ONE I WANT!"
They love kids, earn big money and are domestic men! These can help her with her housework at home so she can slack all day.

But the lady thought to herself, if the 4th level is better than all those below, why not go up another to find a even better husband?
YES! She went up again to the 5th level.

This time, the sign board says, "These men have a job, earn big money, love kids, love doing housework and they are very romantic."
Wow! This time the lady got full of herself and shouted, "They are perfect!"
But, she thought to herself, if the 5th level is so much better than those below, why not go up again?

Yes again, she went up.
However, she was surprised and shocked when the sign reads, "You are the 32897423658726356238562875826th Woman on this level, searching for a perfect man when there is none."

Asia Conference - Day 1

One word, INSANE.

The crowd was insane! Hall 8 was FULLY PACKED, and I do mean FULLY!
Even when hall 8 was packed, theres still a queue all the way from Hall 8 to Foyer 3!

BUT!
Ps. Kong was superb. The word was strong and IS very good.

We must be all things to all men.
Cannnot be afraid to engage culture, especially Pop Culture.
We must be familiar with the culture but not of the culture. Be in the world and not of the world.

Ps. Kong drew out 3 spaces.
He called it, 1st space, 2nd space and 3rd space.
The 1st space represents the Church. Every christians love the church, love staying inside the church, why? Because whatever they do, they would not look weird, they can raise their hands as high as possible to worship, to pray. They made it into a alternate world to live in. Only full of themselves.

Yes, 1st space is where you can reach out to God, to pray, to be in the pressence. This is good, however, people tend to make it into a alternate world, trying to align with the real world. Why not make a christian pop band since the world has a pop band? Why not write christian novels since the world has one? Why not make christian this and christian that?

Christians tends to make the Church become their alternate world, becoming afraid to engage the outside world, fear that they would become worldly. Fearing that they would be "plagued".

Whats the 2nd space? The 2nd space is the world, the market place.
This is the space where involves business, government, economy, arts, culture, media, entertainment, etc.
The church should also be a place for non-christians too! According to John 17.15 - 18, Jesus says we ought to be a salt of the earth and light of the world and not staying in the church passively to await for something to happen. Staying only in the 1st space is not being the salt of the earth and light of the world at all.

We, ought to engage culture, so that we can be RELAVANT to the 2nd space!
Our mission is to get people saved, planted in the church. If you can't even relate to non-christians, how on earth are you able to talk to them? Once you open your mouth, you judge, you tell them they will go to hell if you do not go to Jesus, you can't speak relavance into them.

Whats 3rd space? You can only enter 3rd space only if you are invited. This is the top of the top, the government, the big boss, the millionaires are on this space.
If, we are engaged in 2nd space, we are relavant, people on the 3rd space may invite you in. This is where the chance comes, you can change the world from there. But the 3rd space is very difficult to get in.

The 1st space is only a training centre for going into 2nd space and 3rd space.
You know, when we engage into 3rd space, we must have a certain level of sophisication.
We must be familiar with the pop culture, then you can relate to the 2nd space. Then you can become the head and not the tail.
From 2nd space being the top, you will get invited into 3rd space!

However, ironically, Christians that are afraid to engage in the culture, often criticises those that are able to make it into the 3rd space. So becareful.

The atmosphere built there was very good and strong. Asia Conference! Every continent was being represented tonight.

Can't wait for day 2..
